Professor of educational administration, Dr. Kavak has various publications in the fields of education policies, economics of education, basic education and higher education studies. In recent years, he has focused his work on Bologna Process implementations, quality assurance and accreditation issues.
He received his PhD degree in educational administration from Hacettepe University (1986), worked as a faculty member at Hacettepe University Faculty of Education between 1991-2017, and served as vice rector between 2011-2016. He was a visiting professor at Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University between 2000-2002, and a visiting researcher at the Center for Research in Educational Policy (CREP) of the University of Memphis, Tennessee, USA, in the 2007-2008 academic year.
In addition to his teaching and research duties at the university, he served as an Interuniversity Board Member (2018-2021), TED (Turkish Education Association) Scientific Board member (2003-2005), UNESCO Turkish National Commission Education Specialization Committee member (2010-2014). He works as an external evaluator in YÖKAK (Higher Education Quality Board) and EPDAD (Education Faculties Accreditation Association).
He is currently a faculty member at TED University Graduate School and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Education between 2017-2023. |
